Täby today is a modern municipality with a sound economy and good prospectives for future development. Our close proximity to the capital Stockholm, the archipelago and the Baltic Sea as well as Arlanda International Airport provide many advantages. Situated approximately half way between Stockholm and Arlanda, it takes less than 20 minutes from Täby to reach either destination.
Täby has excellent public services, schools and leisure venues, very efficient transportation facilities plus an abundant and wide range of shops and other service centres.
Despite being a relatively small municipality in terms of area, Täby has a population of over 60 000 inhabitants and numerous accessible areas with woods and lakes.
Under the protection of "allemansrätt" (the ancient Swedish legal right of access to private land and open country), there are ample opportunities for walking and rambling freely in our green open spaces to enjoy the countryside.
Prehistoric times are also still very much in evidence in Täby. House terraces, graves, stonewalls and old cattle tracks dating from the days when Iron Age farmers tilled their land almost 2000 years ago are still to be found in the fields. In Täby Church from the 13th Century, admirable items of interest include well-preserved ceiling paintings, by Albertus Pictor in 1480, that are imaginary and decorative.

Development of future areas
Enlargement of Täby center area providing 25 000 sqms additional retail area, 10 000 sqms office space and 850 new apartments to bee started 2008. Further planning for Arninge enlarges the consisting retail and industry area with northern Europes largest event resort consisting retail, in- and outdoor ski-slopes, cross-country ski-tunnel, indoor water park, hotel and apartments.

Workforce availability
Approximately 50 percent of the population in Täby have some past high school education. There are good conditions for employment of well skilled and excellent educated labour force within Täby and surroundings.
Transport and education
Täby is located along the highway E18 . You can reach Stockholm City by car within 20 minutes, Arlanda airport www.arlanda.com within 25 minutes, a new highway” Norrortsleden” links you to Highway E4 and Kista. Train and rapid busses www.sl.se brings you to Stockholm within 15 minutes.
Major future developments of infrastructure
